Battery Drains When Jeep Is Not Started For A Few Days And Have To Recharge...

It could have failed. I mean it is a 14 year old vehicle. Or they could just be telling you that to get more money out of you. It's not like I haven't seen them pull that stunt more than once.

well had the same problem and yea probelly the security system but it was from Body control mod.. (horn) so I just rigged the horn to be hot from with the key on so No horn when you lock the car and yea dead after 2 to 3 days now I can leave it parked for weeks no dead battery

2000 Jeep GCL 4.0l - I traced my battery drain to fuse #7 under the drivers side dash, from the 7 wires to that fuse, I traced the FOB module wire as the draw, This is the keyless remote module that keeps monitoring for the signal to open or lock the doors. It is located in the front passengers side door that is part of the window and door lock switch assembly. I ordered a used FOB module ($25) and a Dorman programable FOB remote ($40) and solved my battery drain problem. It wasn't easy to find. I did a fuse-pull diagnosis (from youtube), then continuity tests from the #7 fuse socket to the wire pins. The only way to do this is remove the fuse block from under the dash, which isn't too hard to do. I also changed my BCM ($50), which I discovered wasn't bad, but I don't mind having extra parts lying around.

Wow! Nice job. Thanks.. I would pursue this if it is a common problem or inherent. Sounds like it could very well br. Altho I was thinking the drain could be caused by the ever present and ever functioning anti theft system ( which apparently cannot be disarmed permanently).
