Do cars get worse gas mileage in winter?

Not that I have noticed but gas formulations do change in some states which can affect fuel economy. If you are running in 4WD a lot it will reduce the MPG.

I went online and got a eco/obd2 gas saver for around $5 and improved my gas millage by 30%. Just go online and type in gas saver.
