Your fluid level can be fine, but the over heating situation indicates clutch plates slipping or tour torque converter fins have possibly collapsed. Either way you are looking at a transmission removal and teardown. My guess is it has very high mileage on the transmission. Your transmission fluid is probably burnt also. Sorry for the bad news.
