Hi. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 6 cyl 4.0L WJ. I'm the original owner. I have had to replace the fan relay switch 6 times! Recently, I've replaced the thermostat, thermostat sensor, battery, alternator, water pump, oxygen sensor, fan, radiator and the connectors from the car's wiring to the fan motor. Last night, my car overheated again blowing out the top hose which I replaced. Got a read-out P1491. Today, I replaced the fan relay switch yet again and it the car is still overheating and the fan is NOT going on. It did removed the engine light, but still have the problem. HELP!!!!! Any mechanics have any suggestions for me. I am stumped!!!!

You have done a lot but have you checked the cooling fan to make sure it is not drawing way too much power? Something is making your fan switch go bad. An after market cooling fan set up does not cost all that much and it might solve your problem.

Thank you FoR. I have NOT checked the power on the cooling fan. This is a brand new one and I thought by getting a new one (it's 2 months old) it would solve a "drawing too much power" problem, but the same thing is now happening. Please tell me how to check how much power it is drawing. Exactly. I cannot find any videos on the internet. Seems that checking electrical wiring is complicated. What do I need?
