My Grand Cherokee froze up on me. Am I looking at a brake issue or transmission issue?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 grand cherokee Laredo
(4x4) was working perfectly fine, then
suddenly I went to reverse out of my
driveway, it went about a full tire
rotation back, then jerked to a stop.
Now it won't move. When I switch to
drive/reverse it switches over (kind of
roughly), but will not move in either
direction. Please help point me in the
right direction with finding the
problem.
