Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay the jeep which is awesome and which i got gratis from my brother in law "jimmy the bookie", as in it would be an insult if
you don't accept this gift type thing.Anyways the controls on the steering wheel went. No horn, volume ctrl, cruise ctrl, etc.
Then just recently"jimmy" head to use the truck (don't ask) the check engine light went on. I checked the net and some
people( yahoo answers) were saying the steering wheel spindle. I checked the fuses they are fine. Anyone know anything
about this?

It's called a clockspring. Sits Behind the steering wheel and has a coil winding that all those things pass through (hence the name clockspring) when it breaks everything on the wheel dies.
