I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and think my brakes are stuck in 4wheel drive....how do I get them out and back in 2 wheel drive

Umm... brakes don't get "stuck" in 4 WD. They have nothing to do with the 2WD or the 4WD. Your transfer case is what controls whether your truck is in 2WD or 4WD. There may be a dash switch or control (depending on which 4WD system you have) that allows you to select between 2WD, 4WD and possibly 4LOW. You also may have a "full time" 4WD system that is basically in 4WD all the time, you have no way to switch to 2WD. You need to identify which transfer case system you have before anyone can help you further...
