Jeep wont start

Asked by megunrunner Nov 09, 2010 at 10:30 AM about the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drove to town a few days ago and jeep stalled when I pulled into parking lot. It would restart but would not stay running.I checked the fuel pump which was OK so I changed the fuel filter but still no help. Now the Jeep wont start at all. It turns over but will not start. I am getting spark at the coil but it seems to be a weak yellowish spark and not a blue bright spark. Can this be the problem, or should I suspect the crank position sensor, or something in the fuel components line?

I would suspect a crank sensor as they are common to go bad on these but try a little ether or carb cleaner down the throat of the intake tube and see if it wants to start to see if in fact it is a fuel problem ...
