Oil pressure does not read PSI

I just replaced my oil pressure sensor but my oil gauge is still
not registering PSI

If the gauge is at zero or slightly below then the gauge is faulty, but if the gauge goes full scale and above then there is an open circuit in the gauge circuit. Now this is assuming that you actually have oil pressure.
