Oil pressure

I have an 02 Duramax that the oil pressure gauge
us not reading and I'm thinking that's what's
causing my truck not to start. Right before winter I
tried to start my truck it started , two seconds after
it died and hasn't started since. It's been sitting all
Ohio winter. I bought two brand new batteries that
wasn't it. I noticed my pressure gauge isn't reading
at all. Normally when I would start my truck the
gauge would go up, as my truck warmed up it went
down . As I drove it would rise as my foot was on
the pedal. Long story short I think it's something
involving my oil. But i don't know what and don't
have the money to pay a mechanic, . If someone
could help me diagnosis or even help me begin to
look in the right direction it would really help.

I guess I would try replacing the oil pressure sending unit. You also should check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, even if it does not start, it should show something on the gauge when turning it over.

If you're saying the pressure used to drop and go up as your foot was on the gas pedal, that indicates pressure dropping as idle in low meaning you have internal engine wear, possibly main or rod bearing that is causing pressure to drop. Do a compression test and see if it's low. It could be that the timing chain has jumped a tooth as part of internal engine wear. I've seen it do that on a 2005 ford where it was running, they went to the store and when they turned off engine, it wouldn't start back up, chain had jumped a tooth.
