I have a stalling problem and a leak

Asked by GuruZTSNV Oct 21, 2017 at 12:04 AM about the 1993 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SLE Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1993 GMC SIERRA SLE
and I have a problem with it
stalling and going dead when in
gear and on the brakes.
Sometimes if I put it in nuetral
before I hit the brakes it will stay
running or if I use both feet and
keep the RPMs over 1000 it will
stay running but otherwise it will
go dead when I apply the brakes
firmly. I got under and inspected
the wiring to the transmission
thinking that it was due to the TCC
or something else in the
transmission and I noticed where
the plug plugs up on the driver's
side of the tailshaft the plug was
damaged but also there is fluid
leaking out of the sensor where it
plugs in and was curious if the
sensor since it is leaking could
actually be the problem and what
it's called. thanks

look for vacuum leaks at the power brake booster , clean the IAC port or replace the part , that might help , test it first if you want that would be the right way to do it
