Asked by Guru9DJXSD Nov 21, 2020 at 04:55 AM about the 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 Work Truck Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 gmc Sierra 4.8L Ext. Cab 4x4
high mileage. It runs great when you
started up and drive it. Once you turn it off
for a while. It starts up fine, but when you
try and drive it, it skips an it has very little
power. When diagnose it say the fuel
injectors are  only working on one side. My
mechanic said the fuel pressure is fine.
He's changed out the computer, tune up,
catalytic converter, check the fuel
injectors, check the wiring harness to the
engine and working on checking the wiring
harness from the fuel tank to the
computer / engine not sure which one. I
am not a mechanic. My trucks been out of
service for three months now. Can
someone make a recommendation?

I went through this w my 04 Yukon XL w 5.3 fuel pump was putting out 40 psi cold, once warm the pressure would hit 35-33 psi which is right at the starving stalling threshold, replaced pump helped, still had idle misfire (intermittent) and pass side rail of injectors not working replaced tps and throttle plate assembly problem solved. I did the chase the grounds game and all the bs and I'm the end was two bad parts. Hope this helps. Ps buy delco/Delphi parts better quality and engineered for you Chevy.
