the other day i heard a lot of grinding and sounded like my engine was coming out the truck, then it stopped and i was able to take my truck home, i dont knoe=w what it was could it be the starter

it starts up and i moved it today just around the corner and parked it, very scared to drive it .

Did the grinding start when you turned the key (starter) or while it was running (engine)? It could have been your A/C compressor seized up and burnt through a belt.

How many miles are on this engine? The starter did not disengage? Solenoid spring could be broken would soon burn up the starter motor if this were the case.
