This could be your Fuel Gauge. I had this happen to me with a Chrysler product where my gauge was reading around 1/4 tank to 1/2 tank but in reality I had no gas. It also would not start, but then I put some gas in the next day and it started right up! So, try putting some gas in and this will tell you if you have a bad Fuel Gauge.
