Car won't start

I have a 2000 pt cruiser, I was driving it yesterday,  when it
jerked pretty hard, it lost all power, when I pressed The
gas nothing  I can not get it to crank any idea what could
be wrong with it

Steering wheel locked cause of the engine shut off that why it jerked hard i guess its time for maintenance simple no point to ask around the web)
