got a 2002 ford explorer xlt, it has 179,000 miles. I changed the thermostat and housing was fine for a week but now its overheating again. no leaks but the coolant seems to be disappearing. why??

You may have a bad radiator cap. Try replacing with a new one. Are your cooling fans kicking on when the engine gets up to temperature? If they are not working, that will do it also.
