2002 Ford exsplorer having trouble starting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Ford Exsplorer and I'm having
a lot of problems trying to start it.
Sometimes it won't turn over , lights and
everything come on but just won't start. I
have changed altanator, starter,battery. and
wires, checked all fuses and relays, once I
replaced all of those now the only way it will
start is with a jump but then it will only run a
fuew minutes. seems it's not getting
enough power or fuel to keep running and
dies in minutes then won't restart.have
changed fuel pump,filter,and injectors and
still the same. I'm all out of ideas on what
else it could be. Does anyone have any
advice that could help me?

Step 1. Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down. Step 2. Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. The basic start of diagnosing a problem(s).

Does it start, every time, with a jump? Even after it dies after a couple of minutes? When it does start, does it run normally until it dies?

yes, now it will start every time after a jump. it runs like normal for a fuew minutes then it will die out. it seems like something is draining the battery causing it die out.

You stated you changed the alternator. What you describe sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery. Have you checked it to make sure it is charging the battery? All you need to check this is a multi-meter.
