having trouble starting my suv

Asked by karonrocha Oct 23, 2015 at 01:49 PM about the 2002 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 ford Explorer, that is giving me trouble starting.most of the time it will start but every couple of days it will crank but not start. But once we jump it.it starts right up,and is good for a few more days.I had the battery checked it's at 100 % we checked the alternator by removing the cable it stayed running so the alternator is good.I put new battery cable connectors on.I've been told to change the fuel filter,so thats my next adventure.I really need help I am disabled and I have no one to help me so I am watching videos to do this on my own,So I could really use the advice on what it might be.

Is it turning over really slow? Check all your battery connections and make sure they are clean. If you just put ends on the cables that may be your problem as those are notorious for bad connections and corrosion.
