if you put the key in the 'on' position, can you hear the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel rail? You may have an electrical/fuel pump issue.~

did someone hit your bumper? 'cause this one has an emergency fuel cutoff that can be reset with a button on the driver's side kick panel...if no fuel pressurization is occurring would suggest that you press this button to reset...NO money spent.~....yay.~

I borrowed my daughters 99 on a nice cool spring day for an errand. The window was down and when I exited the vehicle I opened the door and manually pushed the lock button down. When I returned to the vehicle I noticed I had locked the door, so I reached in and opened the door by hand. The vehicle would not start, or crank. Had to cycle the key fob from lock to unlock for it to work. Even the lock smith didn't know this when he was replacing the ignition switch. He reprogrammed the key six times and the vehicle would not turn over. When I returned he stated he could not figure it out. I took the key fob out of the ignition, cycled the lock/unlocked and it started right up.

for the love of all things convenient and secure...it did not say to do that in the manual...it's like one must "outsmart" these devices...play games with them like they are playing with us....security issues are the worst...none can be trusted...does it know that you are benign or an intruder? no it does not...waiting for this area of identity recognition to finally manifest itself in a useful fashion~

feel like they are playing games with us....like if you press two buttons at once something different may happen...hold down one button, will go beep beep and now doors lock after two minutes...again and they won't auto- lock...it is a kind of puzzle with every car and none manual ever explains all of the key fob functionality as it pertains to diagnosis~
