Will my truck stiil drive if my ac compressor started burning smoke?

I have a 2003 ford expedition 5.4 engine i just got
a new alternator put in wed and just a minute ago
when i went to start my truck it had a burning
smell coming through the vents under my hood my
compressor was going out but I'm not sure if my
belt is good or not has anyone had this problem or
does anyone know if my truck will be able top
drive or will i mess up the engine if i drive?

Don't drive it until you fix the problem. It sounds like something is locked up and the serpentine belt is burning.

What if i turn ac off im not able to get a new compressor right now and need a ride
