Can the rear wheel bearing on 99 ford crown vic cause the rear end to go bad?

I never ran across that, if the bearing is bad the axle seal will leak so there may not have ben any grease in the rear end.

If you run the bearing until it falls apart and bits get into the differential it could damage it.
