son has a 93 bronco never drives on freeways needs to be smog for dmv what to do?

what should he do so as to assure it passes smog? he never takes bronco on freeways, does that matter?

Take it out on the interstate and give it a good romping,by that I mean jump on the gas pedal,get up to 50mph and then give her a little more.Do that a few times that'll help clear the system out so she breathes better. Hope that helps =)
