Chevy silverado v6

Asked by Jazz_2026 Jan 25, 2017 at 02:54 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced the intake manifold gaskets. Put everything back together.
Now the truck will not start.
It is sparking.
When i turn the key over and let the gauges settle the check engine light
stays on.
When i turn the key over it does turn over, but it doesn't fully crank.
Have checked all of the wiring everything is hooked up in the right spot.
Have bled the fuel lines, no air pockets.
Have tried to check if the timing was off. am uncertain if the distributor was
put back correctly.
Any input would be appreciated.

Well then check the distributor rotor to see if it is pointing at #1 terminal in the distributor cap. Have to bring #1 cylinder up on the compression stroke, bring timing mark on the crank shaft pulley to TDC, 0 on the timing marks.

Thank you for the answers. It was the distributor it took a while to get it put in correctly but after it was put in the right way it worked like a charm. Truck is now running better than it has before.
