I have a 2001 z71 Chevrolet Silverado 4wd the
steering column is broke so i took it out and put in
a steering column from a 2002 gmc Sierra. It will
crank up but it kills itself off and throwinga security
light. (Like a theft light) is it the steering column?

Yes same problem on my 02 1500 two ways you can Google how to reset your security light using the key or take it to some who can flash your computer on the truck
