Oil pressure and ticking sound 99 5.3 silverado

Asked by austin_sheppard Mar 23, 2015 at 07:20 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I notice that my oil pressure gauge is
reading a little low. It usually sits at half,
and now its around the 1/4 mark. Also, I
started hearing a ticking noise from the
motor (I thought it may be a cracked
exhaust manifold/donut gasket) but after
researching, these two happen together
commonly and it may be lifter tap? Any help
is appreciated
