I have a 1994 ford explorer v6 motor I have no exhaust on it just been running with the y pipe and I took it to PA drove fine came home and now starts to putter around as soon as I press the gas it sounds like its flooded but it shouldn't be and truck just starts to go slower when I sit in idle it put puts once in awhile what is wrong and what can I do it fix it

Running an engine with no exhaust back pressure can burn up your exhaust valves ... donno if that's the problem but if the valves got distorted they could have damaged the seats when restarting ~~~ may be something simple so valves would be the last thing I would check... good luck

Begin with the easy things. Pull out the ohm meter and begin checking spark plug wires, plugs, coil, IACV, etc. You may also want to check the fuel pump pressure. As tom (above) stated, running an engine with no back pressure from a muffler is not the thing to do.

just replaced the spark plugs the IACV looked fine so did the plugs and it still doing the same thing it was doing before idling ruff everytime I put it in gear it does a rump like it wants to move

sprayed brake cleaner on my MAS and still doing the same thing I sprayed carburetor cleaner in the intake still doing the same thing don't know what else to do....... I even put sea foam in the oil and gas and still puttering and not enough power going on......
