Attention Toyota owners 2005 ~2006

Asked by DavidH25 May 24, 2013 at 02:46 PM about the 2006 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Edited, I put the wrong year in:   ...Toyota Corolla Air Conditioning Problems All Models 2005-2006 If you or someone you know has problems with their Toyota Corolla years 2005-2006 needs to know this information. It costs $300 to repair the A/C condenser and $300 in labor for a total of $600. It is important that you as a consumer knows exactly what your rights are.......Toyota has issued a Technical Service Bulletin indicating that the A/C condenser is not properly protected the number for this report is AC002-06. However, Toyota has redesigned the Corolla to correct this in 2007 by properly protecting the A/C condenser leaving the 2005-2006 customers in the dust. Please contact Toyota if you have this issue at 1-800-331-4331 or customerservice@toyota.com and tell them that you demand total replacement of the A/C condenser and full protection. Then go to www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ and lodge a vehicle complaint to force a recall. //// I did not buy an extended warranty.... service agreement whatever you want to call it and The Dealer will not even look at my car unless I sign a service order, which I won't do, and I have begun to have problems with my A/C. If enough of us will go to that website and complain hopefully Toyota will issue a recall  Thank You for taking the time to read this.

I wonder WHY the 2005 and 2006 model year Toyotas? I had a 1993 MR2 and never, ever had problems with the AC on that car.

disqualified..."bessie" is a 1993 rapidly degrading plastics model standard pickup...apologies for the mis-understanding...had to actually look on the door jamb to find out~ooops~ ho ho ho

My A/C just went out (2004 Corolla). It is too expensive to get it fixed. It will probably cost between $1000. - $1500. I watched a video on youtube showing what had to be done..Unbelieveable!! It is ridiculous that an A/C system should be so hard to repair.
