Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I noticed my oil temperature gauge was reaching
302 f.
Is that too hot? Is the first time I see this.
What could be the problem?
Please help

Yes. Should be 200-230, 240 max. If it is running hot at 70mph start by checking the airflow to the radiator. Look for leaves, grass, and road trash in front of the radiator. Possible oil or coolant leaks? You can by a separate oil cooler if you want. Also flush the radiator if it's been a while. Since it's oil maybe a restricted flow some where? Filter, pump maybe, dropped oil pickup tube, plugged oil channel? This is an LT1 motor correct? I'm not that familiar but that sounds about 70 to 80 degrees too hot, and it will get worse without repair.
