This might sound strange, but check the throttle position sensor. When car is cold, the computer adds gag to the in comming gas mix. This replaced the old choke system. After the engine is warm,The MAF and TPS take over the idle speed.Depending if your car is a stick or an auto trans.Automatic transmission cars idle faster than a manual transmission does.Until the system fails, it will not through a code.

This may not even be close to what your problem is , but a temperature sending unit on the radiator caused a chevy truck to aked stupid like that and even flooded out the spark plugs with gas ,, . they said the computer was getting wrong readings and was dumpping the wrong amount of gas in the engine .It never showed any codes either
