73 vette how do I know if its an L82 engine

Have you tried running your VIN thru a decoder to see what it shows? Can also use a decoder to identify the block vin numbers.

http://www.tpocr.com/chevrvin8.html -- if fifth digit in you vin is a "T" it's a L82. Hope this helps.
