need  lot of fixing up"  should  I purchase  this  vehicle?

A fair example is worth what you are paying for the vehicle. Define a lot of fixing. Do you have another $3 or 4K to put into the vehicle? A lot of fixing to me means something like replacing a transmission, worn suspension components and or rust.
