Fuel issues

Asked by Chantel Mar 24, 2018 at 09:59 PM about the 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1987 camaro iroc Z28 I put an older 5.7 in it with
tuned port injection. I put a new fuel pump in it also. When
it starts, it dies soon after as if it is starving for gas. It
sounded like my fuel regulator was shot so I replaced it.
Still does not stay running. Tested pressure, stays at 40
lbs and slowly goes down after turning off key. Sounds
like there is air in my fuel lines while pump is running at
the front of engine where the two main lines attach to the
intake. Any info on what I should do would be
appreciated.
