I have a 1983 Chevy pick up when I stop or slow down it goes dead

Is your idle speed set too low? Have you done a tuneup lately? I would also run a good fuel system cleaner through a tank or two of gas.

I just got the motor rebuilt and added a cam in it not for sure if he changed my plugs it's not missing but I drove it to Dallas this pass weekend that's when I started having problems

Did you get some bad gas?

Check for vacuum leaks. If you have a really hot cam they don't idle well and you may need to set the idle speed up.

Not sure bout the gas but I drove bout two months back and forth to work when I when to Dallas that's when started

It cranks and run good sitting still no stall

It may be time for a new fuel filter.
