Any DTC codes? Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.
no codes, they suggested cleaning fuel injectors by running some chemical through the engine. also a program update because of complaints about sluggish nature. another suggestion was to change the transmission fluid, filter and seal. i bought the truck at about 50,000 miles and not sure what had already been done.

Check for a TSB on the PCM being "reflashed" basically a firmware update slightly altered fuel and timing control maps in the computer. I suggest cleaning the MAF first one of the main (fuel) signals to the computer HELPS control the air fuel ration, A good facility will use a scanner to read live Data directly from the vehicle as it is running...of both long and short term fuel trims... this is a very good indicator of what is happening and checks HEGOS too, along with diagnosing the cause of a sluggish engine condition. I'm doubtful of a transmission fluid change enhancing engine performance!
