2000 Pontica Grand Prix, it starts but shuts off a second or two later

Asked by RFlaig Dec 10, 2014 at 08:49 AM about the Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For a while the car has been cutting out while driving. It doesn't matter what speed I'm
going. Then yesterday I went to start the car and it wont stay running. Even when I press
on the gas peddle it will still stall out. I can hear the fuel pump running and I've changed
the spark plugs and the fuel filter. What else could it be???

Sounds like its a security problem with your key/ignition switch. You could also look at the fuel pressure regulator.

My Pass Key III Security system is malfunctioning. I just got my car back from a dealership after having the front end repaired due to me hitting a deer. When I got it back I did notice Security flashing on my dash board and it does not going away while driving. But the car was just doing its normal cutting out while driving until yesterday where now the car will start but shuts off immediately after.

There's your answer! Take it back the the dealership that did the work. They didn't put your car back together completely right for the security light to not stop flashing.

I have a 1999 grand am shuts off while put in drive i have new coil packs and spark plugs please help
