My 2000 Pontiac grand prix cranks up strong but shuts off after about 3 seconds. I had a brand new fuel pump installed and the car ran fine and i was able to drive it around for a while.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light came on when I
was driving for the short period of
time but the car shows no codes. The
fuel pressure is normal but drops
down when the car shuts off. I had 3
mechanics check it out but can't
figure it out. I just want it fixed can
someone help?

Sounds like your security system might be shutting it down although any competent mechanic should be able to diagnose that (and that doesn't explain the check engine code). Try a different key. The chip in your current key my have been damaged somehow.
