Would the evap valve cause grand am to misfire spit and sputter

When I push on the gas on the Grand Prix
misfire spits and sputters what could be the
problem it says something about evap
somerhing

It could. Sometimes when the EVAP system malfunctions the air to fuel mixture is affected. That will cause the engine to run poorly because of either an overly rich or lean air to fuel mixture that the computer can't correct. Hope that helps! Jim
