intake gasket failure super common on the 3800 motors gasket is made out of plastic. there is a new redesigned gasket made of metal more expensive though...

It's a 400 or so fix, all 3800 engines have this issue around 100k. Mine is a 3800 Series II and I'm having to fix this a second time and I'm only at 103k. It's a intake manifold repair, both upper and lower.

I just had this fixed in my 2000 SSEi...picked it up and it sounded like a diesel truck. Any thoughts on where the repair went wrong?

Exhaust leak (manifold/gasket/pipe) or valves not adjusted correctly. Take it back.

Turns out 'debris' got in it. Guess we will see what specifically their explanation is for where the debris was found and what type of guarantee they'll give that any damage it caused is on them.
