My 03 Montero sport is leaking oil and it smoking
from the hood and exhaust pipes. What could be
wrong and what can I do to fix it

No it's dark grayish and yes it's leaking from under the hood

Sounds like a gasket leak at the rear of the engine,,, the oil is running down the back and the red hot exhaust pipe is making the oil smoke when the oil runs over it

I agree with Tom. It sounds like a valve cover gasket. Take a powerful flashlight and look at the "rear" of the engine. Down there you should see oil all over.

Yes it did over heat at one point And its is oil on the engine valve. I see the oil but didn't know where exactly it's coming from

I just fixed mine by replacing passenger side valve cover casket my both camshaft seals. While in there have your crankshaft seal replace and timing belt I got myself a good running montero.
