My 2004 Explorer XLT 6 Cylinder is having a hard time switching gears. Today service engine soon light came on, then the wrench symbol light came on. When i pushed gas pedal it didn't do anything

Did the engine rev up and it just didn't go anywhere or did the engine not rev up? I would start with checking the transmission fluid level. The Explorer needs to be running while you check it.

It barely revs, was idling funny & I couldn't get it over 5-10 mph. Felt like I was coasting

It could be a plugged catalytic converter? I would get the truck scanned at your local Autozone for free.
