Is it possible for old gas to take out (ruin) an electric fuel pump??

Is the gas we buy now more likely to go bad if left standing for some time than
the gas used to be many years ago??

There are many more additives is gas these days than there used to be. Is is far less common for gas to go "stale" as we used to call it nowadays

Ethanol gas is not good stuff. Use a gas preservative if you plan on parking your car for longer than a month.
