Truck wont start even after new battery whats wrong?

I have a 1991 Chevy 1500, (inheritance from dad) Truck acted like it was going
to die when started up, I left some dash lights on,  it died. Put in new battery.
Dash lights came on for a few seconds and nothing, wont crank over, What is
it?

Sounds like a massive battery draw, possibly an alternator diode plate. Have the battery recharged, electrically disconnect the alternator and see if everything lights up and the starts and runs. If it does you just found your problem.

Maybe pull the small set of wires , I don't think it'll even run with the whole alternator circuit open like that , Or pull the alternator and have it checked by someone that knows what they're doing and not just any clerk at auto zoo
