issues with intelligent key and horn

Asked by james_costanza Apr 28, 2016 at 07:46 PM about the Nissan Maxima

Question type: General

While out to lunch my friend tried to open the passenger side door before I unlocked the car.  This set the horn to honking.  Could not shut it off with the fob or locking and unlocking the doors or starting car.  Finally disconnected the battery.  When I got home I pulled the horn relay and reinserted.  The car will not start without the relay inserted.  Also if I tried to start the car with the intelligent key without the fob it will not start.  Any ideas what is going on.  I have two keys but only one fob.  Neither key works.

I need to know what year your Nissan is. TRY this Factory system here is the procedure to reset it. Close the hood and trunk and all doors except the driver side. Lock the doors using the driver side switch and close the doors. Unlock the door with the key and wait 30 seconds, then open the door. This should give the system enough time to reset so you can start the car.
