Did Chevrolet ever make a Vega p/u (El Camino) show car or prototype ?

GM didn't but I've seen some customs done from Vega Wagons. They used the rear door as the back of the cab. Looks a bit like el Caminos since they were a variation of the Chevelle wagons. Don't know if the ones done were ever show quality, but they're out there. Tom

Yes GM did make a prototype Vega "El Camino". I worked for GM Engineering, 73-99. While visiting the GM Proving Ground in Mesa, Az they were testing a couple of them while considering production. That was before the product sales dove due to a poorly designed engine and other problems.
