88 gmc van
the RMFD1 (the brain) keep burning out. it's getting warm then fails. Just put a
new one in and it happened again. Please help

Does it get really hot under the hood of your van? Is it possible to relocate the ignition module farther away from sources of heat? I believe this "brain" only controls the ignition but I could be wrong. If so you might want to replace the stock distrubutor with an aftermarket one like Accel. https://www.holley.com/brands/accel/
