Question type: General

hi,

im looking at getting a newish car but unsure what to go for. whats classed as
a short drive? i do 60miles a day 40mins to work and 40mins back, about 20-
25 mins is at/above 40-50miles per hour, the thing is on the way home there is
a very steep hill and a little worried that the 1.2 petrol will be under powered as
its a big car.

thanks for the help!

Based on what you said, I would go with a bigger engine or the diesel you said. A long drive and hills...I have never been a fan of those tiny high compression engines. My wife accuses me of having to have overpowered things. The bigger the easier it does them and I don't have to cringe when it is struggling. :). Ironically i am looking at a diesel truck because my van just tries too hard. It has been an awesome van with reliability but I need more power! Growing family. 6 of us. I would go a little bigger and diesels do last a long time. You will get your money's worth in the end. Try a Toyota and it appears you are in a country that offers diesel powered Toyotas.

im coming from a 2.0 turbo hot hatch car so its going to feel very underpowered to start with but the diesel makes sense. thanks for that
