File a complaint against a car dealership

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

s & s motors id not give me a written quote or car fax.  The y took my money as a down payment (200).  i contacted them again by email.  My mother had a serious injury and went into the hospital.  Between her issue and my job work hours, I was unable to complete this sale.  NO paperwork was completed.  I contacted them and they are refusing to return the down payment

Oh No, you should have requested a receipt as a minimum. Cargurus allows you to post online reviews of dealers, but that will only help future customers. How did you pay them? Check, or CC? You can stop payment on the check or dispute the CC transaction.

Never give someone cash without getting a receipt!

Contact your local Office of Consumer Affairs. Unfortunately without a receipt of any kind it's your word against theirs. Hope that helps! Jim
