2005 Ford Escape v6 3.0L As I was driving it just started over heating. I was messing with ac and the heater and thats when it just started over heating. I tried bleeding the air from coolant but not sure if I did that right. No leaks.

Have you had any coolant system work done to it lately? If not we can rule out air for the most part. maybe sticky, or non functioning thermostat..or gunk buildup in hoses. Something is obviously stopping the flow.

If fans are coming on try bleeding air from system like this. Remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.

Should I turn it to heat and leave it off? I keep reading where they see if heat is coming from vents. And if so, do I drive around like that to see if it over heats or turn it back to cool?
