99 blazer temp going 210 to red, no smoke coming out engine.. Help??

Asked by Jammie80 Jan 20, 2017 at 05:38 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 blazer has been getting hot the past few
days.  It does not overheat and no smoke out the
engine, but I'm worried something bigger is wrong.
Antifreeze is full!  Any help would be appreciated!!

Need to change the thermostat! The thermostat is stuck closed. Should not be driving it, getting hot would cause the head gaskets to go. Replace the thermostat. It is rare but sometimes the water pump may be the issue. Make sure it is turning.
