2000 chevy blazer distributor r&r, how to set the timing?

Asked by JohnWayne Apr 26, 2012 at 01:40 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The old distributor had been rigged with putty or something to hold it together in the back so it wasn't noticeable.  Just bought a new one and I'm not sure about setting the timing or how its done correctly.  The plugs and cables were just replaced, this is when I saw the big picture!!!

its not like the old cars where you can just take one out & pop in a new one, there is a whole procedure on how to do it properly,I suggest you either get a repair manual or take it to a shop.
